South Asian Studies Center of Chulalongkorn University (CUSAS) is one of the newest research centers at the Institute of Asian Studies Center, Chulalongkorn University

Mission:
Founded in 2017 to further Thailand’s engagement with South Asia, the center aims to build interdisciplinary academic programs on diverse issues relevant to countries in the region, and their implications to Thailand and the ASEAN community.

Through a community of stakeholders committed to building scholarship on South Asia, the center seeks to deepen knowledge about the region, to inform policy, and to engage with issues that are shaping South Asia today.

Goals:
– Build a body knowledge about South Asia.
– Build a community of stakeholders committed to scholarships on South Asia at Chulalongkorn University and in-region.
– Facilitate scholarly exchanges among faculty and students, international South Asia specialists, visiting academics, and public figures from South Asia
– Promote people to people connectivity between South Asia and Thailand

Countries we work with:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tibet and diaspora communities from these countries
